Planet Directory
All listings in this directory are free (donations welcome, but unrequired).
I warmly invite your recommendations, which I expect I'll consider with much interest and gratitude.
The Planet Directory is under construction and based upon Pip's Links, and the Bellingen and International Free Directory,
both of which it replaces. However, I intend that those will both also remain on Wilson's Almanac as long as I'm building this directory's many pages,
as I propose ˗ a brief time, I trust. I intend to have the Planet Directory quite large, and the old ones removed, by Christmas, 2011.
It will probably be growing each day, so I invite all readers to return regularly.There will be some crossover in headings. Even your almanackist sometimes before starting to build this directory would often wonder whether to have, say, alcohol- and tobacco-related topics under category headers such as Health, Corporations, Fitness, Activism, Children, Age, and so on. Do cockatoos go under the category of Birds, Australia, Environment, Pets, or Birds, or somthing else? It gets you scratching your head like a cocky.
So, not wanting to spend time and energy in silly exercises, I assumed that Almy readers can use Search, with one or more keywords of their own choice. Just working out the vague categories now chosen took about an hour. (That hour was while I was listening to one of the programs in the ABC Radio National series, The Story of Pop, which I recommend.)
Added to that decision have been many other decisions regarding the worthwhileness of a link, which might often lead to a great deal of reading, listening, and so on, not always good.
Therefore, some links might not be worthy of inclusion, in your opinion. In that case, please feel free to inform me, as with any errors. I hasten to add the latter, not for sympathy, but to ensure a good directory for all of us. My eyesight, at time of commencing this directory was very poor, and I made many errors. To finish, frequently I link to Google search returns or Wikipedia pages, as they will lead to a variety of facts and opinions other than mine, the sites' owners, or webmasters. I trust you'll find the Planet Directory very useful, and a gateway to many good ideas.
I hope you'll dig deep, learn much of value to you, and find pleasure with many of the links a great deal, as I'm enjoying doing it very much, but it will take me some time to build the Planet Directory. Bright blessings.
